Smart locks and alarm

The Miami Pool Oasis smart lock is connected to the monitored alarm. When you enter your code, it will unlock the lock and disarm the alarm. And when you leave, punch in your code again and hit the 'Kwikset' button to lock the door and arm the property. One of the benefits of living in El Portal -the smallest municipality in Miami-Dade County, is that the response time for our police officers is fast, really fast.
Security Cameras

The Miami Pool Oasis has outdoor security cameras that actively record audio and video for your and our protection. There's a doorbell camera at the front door, a camera in the backyard, and one on the driveway.
Carbon Monoxide and Smoke Detectors

We have multiple smoke detectors in the main house and the pool house, as well as carbon monoxide detectors to alert you of a problem. Speaking of gas - to keep you safe, the stove in the kitchen is a gas stove, and the outdoor gas grill must be shut off when you leave the house.
Smoking Sensors

Smoking detectors are installed on the property to help enforce the non-smoking policy at the Miami Pool Oasis. We do not allow any kind of smoking, including cigarettes, cigars, vaping, and weed - possession of marijuana is illegal in Florida - anywhere on the property.
Noise Sensors

The Miami Pool Oasis is a peaceful place to relax and recharge, and we'd like to keep it that way, and our neighbors appreciate this too. Noise Sensors monitor the noise level on the property (they don't record or listen to your conversations, so don't worry, we value your privacy.)

Usually, a dinner party is around 60-70 dB, a party is 70-80 dB, and a loud party is 80-90 dB. We follow the recommendations that online travel agencies, like Airbnb, set for noise thresholds: 75 dB during the day and 70 dB during quiet hours.
Pool safety

The pool and yard are entirely fenced in with a 6-foot (2-meter) high privacy fence but are easily accessible from both buildings. You are responsible for keeping children safe by always supervising them when they are on the pool deck and in the pool.
Privacy Protection for the Echo device that runs our Virtual Concierge

We offer our guests a virtual concierge that runs on an Amazon Echo. This device is different than the Amazon Echo you may have at home. It is purpose-built for hospitality, with a special microcode. The camera is disabled, and no voice recordings are stored. It can answer questions about this property and the local area with curated answers from your host. It only works at this property. ID Verification and Damage Waiver

After you make your reservation, we ask you to complete guest verification and sign a short-term vacation rental agreement through third-party provider Truvi. This is done to ensure we are keeping up-to-date with short-term rental regulations and providing our guests and properties with extra protection. Truvi will contact you via email and/or text to complete the verification. Please complete this within 48 hours of making your reservation.

As a thank you for completing a guest verification through your Truvi, they will cover any accidental or unintentional accidents that we pay for that can happen to the best of us. We want to ensure you have a worry-free stay. For more information, check out Truvi's website or read more here.
Mail delivery

We do not accept packages or mail at the property. Please have your mail and/or packages delivered to the nearest post office. There's one in Miami Shores and one in Little River. Contact us for the addresses to either. You can also use stores that rent P.O. boxes. We're happy to help you set this up.
Wildlife

The property is located in a tropical climate zone. It is possible, but not likely, to see iguanas, snakes, lizards, vermin, raccoons, and other wild animals, as well as all kinds of bugs, including, but not limited to, ants, honey bees, palmetto bugs, roaches, etc., on the property. Our homes receive regular pest control to keep the yard and home as pest-free as possible...BUT ALAS, this is Florida. Bugs and critters thrive here. Please understand the possibility of seeing them in or around the home as they like to sneak into all sorts of things. Refunds are not given for the occasional bug sighting, and reports should be made immediately so that we can determine if an emergency call to the pest company is needed. You can also help us by leaving doors closed whenever possible to prevent them from sneaking in.
